The future of online shopping

How do retailers set on engaging with customers?

Aimed at aged 16 - 25. H&M, Topshop and Primark are no strangers to the latest fashion trends. However these big retailers are growing fast, both on the high-street and online. My goal is to find out how each of these retailers are progressing online. All three retailers focus on students, they aim to provide and give them student deals pairing up with 'Unidays' (an app that offers discount to thousands of retailers ranging from 10-20%,

Topshop is now the fastest growing social media page, holding a blog called 'Inside Out', it's Instagram page, Facebook Page. These are all the ways in which they engage with their customers which is why they are so successful as a brand.

H&M is retailer that just started their online business in 2010, still trying to invest in their online sales. They focus more on opening stores but aim to build and invest through social media. Having been online for four years

Primark is also one of the largest stores in the UK, with the same profitable market as H&M and Topshop. Though it doesn't have an online shopping platform. It seeks its high revenue and profit from the mass amount of sales from the high street. It is also a low budget retailer, reasonably cheaper than H&M and Primark but offer customers quality and value for money prices.

Each of these retailers appeal to the same customers, with different styles and strategies, making them the top three stores women love to shop in.

Topshop is my main focus as it is the most profitable and most popular out of all three and is the only retailer with a successful social media fan base. Online shopping and social media is so important to have as a business with the new technology of iPads and smartphones. As a company it is important to build that platform to share with your customers, keep in touch and set trends especially to the younger generation.

Topshop and H&M have the media sites and the online website, Primark however offers a interact site only to view the items the customer may be interested then to check the nearest store the item is stocked in.
